Given the context of extreme poverty in which Balo works, a family's limited income often doesn't allowed the families to eat for the entire month. There for it is necessary to provide food to needy families supplementing their with added nutrients.
Balò also provides school fees, books, exercise books and uniforms for all children directly assisted. To this end, schools are selected and sometimes transport is organized as schools are often very far from where the children live.
Balò raises the awareness of the parents about the importance of the education and ensures that parents send their children to school every day.
Balò organizes after school classes so that children and teens, many of whom come from families with illiterate parents, can be supported in their studies. This commitment helps children to avoid the risks of street life.
Balo intervenes in all cases where children and their families need medical care. Diseases are very frequent - such as typhoid which often affects children, tuberculosis and cancer which frequently leads to death and various skin diseases related to poor hygienic conditions and malaria . Balò treats with physiotherapy the children affected by polio and those who have bones diseases due to luck of calcium.
